FOA wants to assist you as an owner in getting the help you need.
On this page we have collected some of the most frequent issues owners ask and a guide to help you.
How do I join FOA?
Go to Join FOA and fill in the form. Have your VIN ready - you will be asked for it.
If the car you enter is still registered to a previous owner in our system, your sign-up is not rejected. You will be asked to upload proof of ownership: a registration certificate, a sales receipt or a transfer document. There is an upload button on the confirmation page and on your account page, so you do not need to email anything to anyone.
Until an administrator has approved the documents, the membership stays inactive. The days you spend waiting are added to your membership period afterwards, so the review does not cost you anything.
If you would rather not pay yet, you can register as a Fisker owner for free. That gives you a login here and access to a small part of the community. The paid memberships are what open up the rest of it, along with the other member benefits. You can upgrade from your account page whenever you like.
I have no access to the FOA Community
The quickest route is your own account. Log in, go to your account, and use the Community link there. It takes you straight to our Discourse forum, and it works whether or not you can still find the original invitation.
When you joined, we also sent an invitation by email. Those invitations expire after about a month, so an old one in your inbox may no longer work - use the link on your account page instead. If you want to look for it anyway, search your email, spam folder included, for messages from notifications@fiskeroa.discoursemail.com.
If the link on your account page does not get you in either, write to info@fiskeroa.com from the address you joined with and we will sort it out.
How do I pay for membership?
Paying is part of joining. Pick a tier on Join FOA, enter your card, and the membership starts as soon as the payment goes through. Payments run through Stripe on this site, so there is no separate account to create and nowhere else to go.
If you registered your car but never paid, nothing is lost. Go to Join FOA, pick a tier, and use the same email address you registered with.
We no longer use JoinIt. An old JoinIt login or an old JoinIt email can be ignored - your membership lives here now.
How do I change the card you charge?
Go to your account, open Subscriptions, and use Update next to the membership. The card is held by Stripe rather than by us, so this is the only place it can be changed.
The same table has a Card Exp. column. If the card runs out before your renewal date the renewal will fail, so it is worth updating it before that happens.
How do I renew my membership?
If auto-renew is on you do not have to do anything. The card on file is charged at the end of the period and the membership carries on.
If auto-renew is off, or your membership is one of the older manual ones, we send a reminder by email and a Renew button appears in your account 30 days before it expires. You can also go straight to Renew your membership.
Renewing early no longer costs you days. Renewing the same tier before it expires adds the new period on top of the expiry date, not from today.
If you let the membership lapse, joining again costs the joining fee a second time, so it pays to renew before the date.
How do I turn off auto-renew, or cancel?
Both are in your account under Subscriptions.
Turning off auto-renew stops the next payment. The membership stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and you keep getting renewal reminders, so you can still renew by hand if you change your mind.
Cancel membership ends the whole thing, add-ons included. It also runs to the end of the period you have paid for and then stops, with no further payments and no more reminders. Memberships are not refundable, so cancelling does not pay back the period you are in.
How do I get a software update for my car?
Software updates are not delivered over the air. Somebody has to connect a tool to the car, which means an appointment with an Advanced Installer or a workshop that has the equipment.
The update the association installs is called Marlin. How to get the Marlin update explains what it contains, who can install it and how to arrange it. If you are not sure what your car is running, Fisker Ocean software versions explained untangles the version numbers.
If there is no installer or workshop near you, getting your local workshop onto the SURF tool is how other owners have solved that.
My car isn't working properly - please help!
Having a car with problems is frustrating. Our goal is to assist you in getting help.
Most issues with the Fisker Ocean can be fixed by simply bringing the car to ‘deep sleep’ and waking it up again.
To do that, exit the vehicle, open the charge port door and lock the vehicle. Walk away from the car, so the key fob is out of range. Once the blue light in the charge port turns off, usually within just a few minutes, your car is in deep sleep. Enter the car again and check if your problem has been fixed.
If the blue light hasn't turned off within 5 minutes, come back to it after an hour and check again. If it's still turned on there are other issues interfering with deep sleep that will need to be solved, which you can find out about by searching the community for "deep sleep".
If deep sleep did not fix it and you have the OceanLink Pro app, read the car’s fault codes next. The app gives you a DTC report - the diagnostic trouble codes the car is storing - which usually tells you what the car is actually complaining about, rather than what it looks like from the driver’s seat.
If the issue hasn't been fixed, please go to our FOA Community and search the forum. There is a lot of posts that helps solve issues with the car, and a very active community ready to help you out.
If you cannot find an answer, ask. Attach your DTC report to the post - owners there can read the codes, and it saves everyone guessing at what the car is doing.
Also check out the Wiki.
If your car still has the issue, it might need a technician to fix it.
We have a list of available technicians in each country; please check it out here.
What is that 'community' you talk about?
We have a very active community on the Discourse platform, where there is posts about anything related to Fisker Ocean.
There is DYI guides to help you fix your car.
There is announcements of key fob meetups.
All of our Town Hall recordings are available to members.
In short: This is the place you want to go for any information regarding your Fisker Ocean.

I’m having issues with OceanLink Pro
We collect bug reports and feature requests for the app. Follow the OceanLink Pro thread on Discourse to keep up with what is happening, and this tag for every post about it.
To report a problem, use the support option in the app’s own menu. If you cannot find it, the same form is here: OceanLink Pro bug reports and feedback.
If your question wasn't answered by the list above, you are always welcome to reach out to our volunteer info box team, by sending an email to info@fiskeroa.com.
