The Fisker Owners Association was established in June 2024. Here is a timeline of FOA's progress:
-
June 2024
Fisker Inc. files for Chapter 11 in the United States. The Fisker Owners Association is founded the same month.
-
From the first negotiations
FOA is represented in the Chapter 11 process. That is what keeps the recalls inside the bankruptcy process rather than letting them disappear with the company.
-
Summer 2024
Access to the FAST diagnostic tool is shut off as a consequence of the bankruptcy. The association works to keep tools available to independent workshops.
-
August 2024
Fisker’s Danish company goes bankrupt. The bankruptcy reaches owners at different times depending on where they live.
-
August 2024
Tsunami Automotive is founded in California to source, warehouse and distribute Ocean parts.
-
October 2024
The bankruptcy becomes final.
-
November 2024
The first cars go into the ICC boot loop: the centre screen restarts over and over without finishing. At that point the only remedy is the costly replacement of the ICC module.
-
November 2024
Keys from the group buy arrive, providing owners with much-needed second key fobs.
-
January 2025
Cars with the ICC boot loop issue are now able to be repaired with a fix provided by FOA, eliminating the need to replace the ICC.
-
February 2025
Tidal Wave is founded by a group of Ocean owners. Europe has a parts supplier.
-
March 2025
OceanLink Pro reaches the app stores: the first new features the Ocean has been given since Fisker stopped.
-
April 2025
The connection to Fisker’s cloud goes down, and the cars lose the services that depended on it.
-
September 2025
PKC21 rolls out: FOA and Chevalier deliver new and improved phone-as-key software for the Ocean.
-
March 2026
Wired magazine publishes a long piece about the association.
-
June 2026
The first Marlin installation: FiskerOS 2.2 with VCU24, PDU4000 and ADAS 3.1.1 updates.
